Hi guys,

Like most people, was into the hobby when I was 12-14, but kinda forgot about it and moved onto other games, particularly card gaming. Jump forward to 2 years ago and I started hanging out with some of the regulars from GW Dublin, getting back into the hobby with Dark Elves and Space Marines, and have continued on as such since then.

But recently I've become a bit jaded with GW's major products (not really because of rules or "broken" armies or anything, but that is nerdrage that I would post somewhere more appropriate if I felt the need), and decided to look into specialist games, which always intruiged me in my youth, but no-one at the time was interested in playing. Thankfully my group were very interested in my concept of "The Summer of Specialist Games". As simple as it sounds, we pick a specialist game, and play a campaign until we get sufficiently jaded with it and move on. Our first leg of this is a Mordheim campign which is approachig it's first month of life now, and is a resounding success.

The next rule was to alternate between settings to prevent games becoming too stale, and although it hasn't been discussed yet, a few people have mentioned Inquisitor (in 28mm scale though, which is utter blasphemy, but lowers the barrier of entry significantly imo), and my limited knowledge of the game has led me to consider how this will happen (In the aforementioned Mordheim campaign I have become a de-facto player-GM by the virtue of it being my idea).

This is the reason I'm here. I have some ideas about my own personal warband, but I have decided that everyone (including myself) would enjoy it a lot more if we had an actual story for the campaign, rather than running toys at each other and writing down what happens for next time. I will be mostly posting up different ideas and concepts I want for my own warband (I have two ways to go on it in my head atm), and wether or not I'll be a player-GM, or build them as NPC's in my games, and I will also be gathering information and critique of the campaign that I may be writing for it, and maybe even a running report of the campaign as it develops.

Welcome to the Conclave!

Hope we're able to help you with your campaign.  It might be worth running a few games where the characters get to interact with one another and the story is pretty ad-hoc and then draw them into a campaign once they've had chance to develop and try out their characters (and get used to the rules).

There's nothing wrong with 28mm, but don't discount 54mm - it can be done cheaply if that's what you want, but you should see it as a chance to try something new and to build some cool new miniatures.  If a few of you are starting at once then you should be able to trade bits between you and customise your models without all having to spend a fortune.
I like to remember things my own way... Not necessarily the way they happened.

Damn, I got beaten to the big yellow writing.

I've got a .PDF knocking around for a campaign world you can use, it's pretty unique and would save an awful lot of world building. It also has a lot of pre-built story hooks which you and your campaign could jump upon.

Just ask if you'd like it.
