Imperial Food and Drink

For my campaign, I plan to involve food and drink as well as buying it. Does anyone know any types of Imperial f+d (i can think of a few chaos ones e.g. khorne flakes)

Answer: Just about anything. The Imperium is huge, with all kinds of different worlds, flora and fauna. You eat what you can grow and isn't too poisonous.

If you want more specific examples, then there is a snippet on Lexicanum, and the Fantasy Flight books have a horde of examples. (But for those not blessed with their books, their forums have threads dedicated to making up foodstuffs).

Would it be possible to create a list of about 10 foods and 10 drinks (5 non alcoholic/5alcoholic) for a desert planet (see here if you need to)

For a planet that is literally a desert world (one where the average global precipitation is in the millimetres a year) to have 10 drinks would seem to break away from the usual ideas.... even tea would be a waste of water, because of boiling. Water is the obvious one, and, like on hives, it would be rare - Hive Nobles show their wealth not through expensive wine, but through pure water. Infusions of plants in cold water might be used. Blood is also a possible drink - some sort of exocamel, which can be drained for emergency drinking fluid. Read Dune to get an idea of just how important water would be. Food... dunno, look up Bedouin diets?
