The first one is a 54 scale Magnus, Vampire Hunter model, which I'm converting, and the second is a 28 mm converted Eldar Storm Guardian model

Backgrounds are required berfore any of us can make decisions. Also, I would say the Inq' and the eldars stats are a tad low (very low in the case of the eldar) As well as this, skills are designed to make characters unique. Are you using the Eldar in Inq28 as well.

James was born in the year 973.M41 on the planet Caris, a forest world in the segmentum Tempestus. The people if the world are semi-nomadic, with clans moving around, and heading to the cities in the winter. James clan was know for being duelists, and James carried on this tradition. His clan had a unique tradition in that when the men fought, they would usually strip of their shirts, to that any blade marks would be seen, and would be felt easily. Unknown to him, he was a psyker. In the year 987.M41, a chaos horde assaulted the planet, and James clan and family was killed in the resulting invasion. The chaos force's were only stopped when an imperial fleet entered the system, and forced the chaos forces to withdraw. The fleet was led by Inquisitor Varrus, who had been pursuing the fleet for a while. When Varrus landed on the planet, he was drawn to the presence of James psychic powers. When he got to him, he saw Blayke lying on the ground, surrounded by dozens of dead cultists,amidst the burning tents of his former home, a sword lying in his hand. While it was clear that the boy had not killed all of his enemies, the bodies of his clansmen on the ground attesting to that, Varrus was still interested in the boy. He took him back to his ship, and when James was awake, Varrus told him what happened . He then brought James to the scholastica Psykana, where he would learn how to control his powers  After five years were up, Varrus arrrived at the Scholastia to see James's progress, and presented him with a gift, his sword, reforged so that his psychic powers would flow through it and make the blade stronger.  After offering this, Varrus offered to teach James the hallowed ways of the Inquisiton. James accepted, and Varrus has worked with James since then, teaching him how to be an Inquisitor, and about the Imperium as a whole.

I hope this isn't too presumptious, as I have not been here for very long, but:

And onto Mr. Blayke. 

The background is interesting, it's clear how James would be of interest to a chaos hunting Inquisitor, without seeming overpowered. Also the difference between the two sides of his personality- the forest dwelling feral worlder and the Imperium Trained Ordo Malleus(I presume) Inquisitor- will be a really rich source of further character building and narrative construction. Small point- psykers a required to be tested and sanctioned by Imperial Law- I assume that happened at the Scholastia?
Force weapons can be nasty weapons, but I'll leave the considerations of balance to the more experienced bretheren and sisteren of the Conclave. The stakes are a nice touch- made from the trees of his homeworld, maybe?

Look forward to seeing more of the Eldar. Inquisitor Lars has a point- the Xeno's stats are a bit low, especially initiative, and its worth baring in mind that all Craftworld born Eldar have psychic powers to some degree, even if it's just minor telepathy.

Fair enough, Octavian Lars, consider me rebuked. 

As to the Eldar- one should be looking at six action dice per turn minimum, these guys are exceptionally fast compared to slow-witted mon-keigh. Detection and distraction are perfectly reasonable Eldar skills, but there is a very good article on constructing Eldar characters, along with a list of race specific psychic powers, available on the Dark Magenta website. Well worth a look. And obviously background is the best way of working out if the rules fit the character...

Blayke's stats are (for the most part) extremely middling, which makes little sense for an Inquisitor. His Sagacity in particular I find irksome; it's my personal feeling that an Inquisitor should above all else be clever. (Unless they're gung-ho "Burn the witch!" types, and even then.) If I'm remembering correctly, rule of thumb is Sg x2 = IQ, which in this case gives us 110. Human norms are 80-120, so as I said - middling. I suppose it could simply be a product of his lack of experience with the Imperium at large, but it's at least something to think about.

I'd probably boost his stats by about 10 across the board (apart from Ld), which would make him a suitably impressive specimen (for a newly-minted Inquisitor, anyway). But my Inquisitors tend to fall towards the high end of the Conclave's acceptability scale, so take that as you like.

Background's alright, though the presentation's a bit messy. That's not really a criticism, mind - practice makes perfect and all that. I wouldn't mind having a go at editing it, but people have been known to take offense when I do that sort of thing without permission. The one real issue I have with it is Varrus giving Blayke a choice about being conscripted. I tend to see most Inquisitorial recruitments being less "You know, I could use a hand if you're up for it" and more "Right boyo, you're coming with me." Personal taste, I suppose.

Well, he isn't technically a full inquisitor yet, he would be considered an interrogator who still needs to work is way up. As for the eldar, I'll have to find that article!

Ah. I was a bit thrown off by the fact that his statline's headed "Inquisitor James Blayke."

Given that he's not a full Inquisitor yet, I might actually reduce his Leadership a bit; there's nothing in his background to indicate he's especially good at inspiring people, and he is after all still learning.
