When I started the Conclave all those years ago...

Hello,

Wow, when I started the Conclave on the Specialist Games forum I didn't imagine that it would still be going ten years later!

Just popping in to say well done guys (and gals), I'm glad Inquisitor is still thriving online and the collaborative storytelling that made the Conclave so unique is as strong as ever.

Keep up the good work, I'll be reading.

well, Welcome (back) to the Conclave!

it's had its moments but i'm glad The Conclave still stands; it seems to have a more easy-going attitude and i can't really remember anyone having falling-outs or issues with each other...
we've had an influx of Old School Members recently which is always good to see; Inquisitor isn't dead so long as people play it!

looking to The Future© i personally would like to see independent 54mm casters pick up strength and for the two communities, 28&54, to become more integrated; despite both sides claiming not to have issue, the two playerbases rarely seem to overlap...
i make no apologies, i warned you my ability to roll ones was infectious...

The Conclave has died and been reborn on a few occasions now (is this the fourth iteration?  I lose count!), but there's still a small and dedicated core of members keeping the lights on.  We're all a lot older now with real life responsibilities, and the volume of posting has slowed, but the quality remains.  Despite the plug being pulled at GW HQ on the Inquisitor range, the game will continue to be played by its dedicated fans.

The battle for the Emperor's soul continues in the dark forgotten places of the galaxy as it ever has!

Well, you know what they say; Everything you have been told is a lie...

I'd like to think between us here and the (primarily 28mm) community over on Ammobunker, we're still just about keeping the game alive. There certainly aren't the numbers of the earlier years, but it hasn't dampened the enthusiasm much; we've had plenty of adventurous character, rules, scenario and model creation - I think we're due for at least four 54mm scale vehicles at the autumn meet-up, which should be quite the sight.

And the collaborative story telling manages to exist still too - it's a bit sluggish of pace (in that it's rare to have more than one big narrative active at a time), but it's still there.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

3 on one table; here's hoping the games live up to the sight!

What a nice surprise...

I really wish that I had had sufficient prescience to make copies of the emails that Andy and I exchanged all those years ago. I was still an undergraduate chemist, working at the time on a placement year in deepest Yorkshire, when Andy got in touch to ask if I might be willing to moderate one of the Specialist Games internet discussion forums, dedicated to Inquisitor which, at the time, I was knee-deep in moderating numerous campaigns for. I said yes, alongside my long-absent yet esteemed colleague, Chief Justice (Bob) Macfarlane, and we through ourselves into the task to trying to oversee all the ecclectic thoughts of Inquisitor fans the world over.

Since then, we've been through at least four iterations, have seen the focus of these boards swing back and forth between different expressions of the Inquisitor hobby, left the fold of the Specialist Games website, launched the Dark Magenta project, seen the regular Conclave gatherings spring into life thanks to your own excellent efforts and community spirit, and generally enriched the experience of Inquisitor gamers worldwide.

Though we are older, and quieter, than before, as everyone gains responsibilites beyond the hobby, we still have new blood joining us, and we still see excellent content on a week-by-week basis. Alongside our trusty Mechanicum Magos, Gav, it has been, and will continue to be, my pleasure to moderate The 'Clave.

The Inquisition is watching, as ever...
