Really fantastic paintjob.  Added lots of personality, especially to the face. 

Quick question (as I may be trying to steal your technique) on his right shoulder pad.  Did you by chance paint it silver, give it a large number of washes with black ink, then redo the designs in boltgun metal and highlight with mithryl silver before adding varnish?  That's a complete guess and I'm assuming you went through far more trouble than that but as I'm fairly new to the more advanced painting techniques I figured I'd venture a guess.

Absolutely stunning - great level of detail with all the writing and the robes look really rich. A brilliant and characterful model (- not that I would expect otherwise).

His left hand is from the Thorian; the pistol in his right hand is from Van Yastobaal.

If I remember rightly I basecoated it using Tin Bitz, then mixed in Shining Gold for successive highlights.  I then painted the pattern using a mix of brown ink and black, gave it a couple of washes with various colour inks and then had to go back and pick out the pattern again with a mix of Tin Bitz and Shining Gold.  Finally I varnished it with a coat of satin varnish.

A real air of authority in this model - I feel compelled to overthrow him already.

I can just see him drawing that sword slowly and deliberately.

Great stuff Dave. I've always been a big fan of the Thorian model (shame about the original head).

I'd note that the sword-holding pose seems a bit... familiar though? A bit like a certain entry to the modelling competition last year...  



Which reminds me, I really should finish him off properly =/

Well the Thorian isn't the most versitile model to pose.

I need to think of some more original ways of saying: Wow (whoever made and painted the latest model that is inspireingly awesome, in this case Kaled), just wow.

ok so that's three things. The armour is superbly well done Dave, congratulations, I wish I had your patience with painting I really do.

Having sat back a bit I can imagine that the head looks fine alongside your other non GW models(?) I personally don't like the sculpting style (the skin tone and shading around the eyes is lovely ofc).

wish I was less overdrawn. I really want to do some Inquisitor stuff again.

The only other candidates who will be present on the table will be people's PCs who put themselves forward as candidates, or if a player is supporting one of his own NPCs who he has a model of.
