Inquisitor Cade

Is her body supposed to be rotating in the opposite direction to the way she is swinging the hammer?
*Insert token witticism*

Alyster Wick

She's rotating with the hammer whilst in the middle of a kind of "combat dance", meaning that her bells are trying to catch up with her movement.  That's what I'm trying to capture with this, imagine her starting at a kneel, twirling 360 degrees while rising and moving forward and carrying this momentum over the top with the hammer.  Does that make sense?  Trying to gauge.

precinctomega

A lot better.  Still not quite true to real physics (I would hold that she should be leaning slightly away from the direction of the hammer head) but the additional dynamism of the swinging chains and cloth add tremendously to the character of the mini.

Great work!

I have to thank you again Kaled for mentioning the tabbard for Hecuba, it forced me to try a new technique that has me somewhat on a roll.  Below is my Magos Biologis.  Originally he was slated to be a haemonculus medic but a happy accident while creating his robes made me scale him up.  Don't worry, I'm adding his left leg in which will be stepping forward to put the whole thing in balance (he presently appears to be floating).

I'm not sure how I feel about the right arm.  I like that it looks more developed at the shoulder and devolves until you get to the mechanical hand, though I may just throw together another robotic arm.

His left arm will get a pneumatic grasping claw with a scalpel on one of the grippers (the hand is done, forearm isn't). I'm also adding a tube connecting the tank to his suit and a handle on the needle device.  It's supposed to be a surgical tool with an enhanced arm that lets him wield it weightlessly.  It sits at rest while not being used.

Here is a scale shot with him and Hecuba.  She is done except for the bells.  I experimented with purity seals and was quite pleased.  I feel like the tabbard may be lacking a little something, but if no inspiration strikes I'm quite happy with her as is.

Swarbie

Looking good. I like the Magos. That spindly mechanical wasp-waist type of thing has always screamed "Mechanicus" to me.
And I saw her body burning,
With it, my world
To dust returning

Wow, I like it very much; it's really characterful - i love the big needle. I look forward to seeing it progress - have you got a colour scheme in mind yet?

Quotehave you got a colour scheme in mind yet?

I'm going to do the armor green and the robes brown with occasional red ornamentation and a very pallid white for the skin.  Here is some progress, I still have some tidying up to do on the robes but overall I'm very happy with my first attempt at robed legs, which is great since I have a few characters on tap that I've been waiting to assemble until I got some robed legs (and I don't really want to have a bunch of models with malicant's legs on the table).

Also, got a shipment of models in (my first in quite some time) and while I had planned on using the Navigator as a Tarot reading henchmen for one of my other Inquisitors, the Vampyre thread had got me thinking.  I give you Inquisitor Haemonus Hand, Ordos Malleus, member of the Dampynjaegen Brotherhood (they research and hunt creates who use parasitic practices to lengthen their lives indefinitely).  He'll be a pretty basic conversion, but his gun is his signature feature:

Each round is a masterwork of artistry as he inscribes sigils of purity and rites of exorcism on the casings and silver of the bullets (needless to say, he never has a reload handy).

Quick question, I'm either going to have his chest plate completely plain with an =][= in the middle or try to fashion it to look like a ribcage (and see if I can fit the small =][= somewhere on the gun).  Thoughts?

Last but not least, all the Vampyre talk got me to thinking, it's the 41st century, why should we settle for 20th century zombies?  With that thought here is my WIP Necromorph (name shamelessly stolen from Deadspace).  He's the big daddy, his little cousins will be based on chaos spawn (which have the benefit of being faaaarr cheaper than most inquisitor models).

Oh yeah. A couple of full-blown mutants and a bunch of gribbly extras, in plastic. Wonderful kit. I may get a box to kick-start my Inquisitor-scale modelling.

I was going to suggest green and white to go with the medic theme, but you're a step ahead!

I like the gribbley, if you're going for the whole xenomorph thing, I think it would be a cool idea to create some rules about headshotting being ineffective, perhaps they being unable to be taken OOA by a headshot?

Still, very nice models overall.

Quick update (probably last one for a while) here is the Magos Biologus.  I have since filled in the gaps with greenstuff and given him a (crude) belt so he's officially ready for a base coat!

DOUBLE POST (but there are pictures so forgive me)

Also, if anyone knows how to turn a word into a link please let me know (I'm far too young to be this technologically illiterate but alas...)

Here are two shots of the big Necromorph's developing head:

Here is my WIP of the Hdvari mercenary Laacoon (see background on his race here: http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=655.0).  He's going to be a far less psychicly active member of his species (only with detect, maybe mindscan minus to ability to focus on one individual) and will have no Mithryl.  His left arm will also be bare (made with gs and spawn tentacles) where as his right arm will a gsed tyranid arm (made to look like the biosuit) and he'll be wielding the alien weapon that the ridiculous Kroot mercenary had implanted in his original right arm (will figure out rules for this, considering having it shoot a poison which does relatively little damage but affects the central nervous system in such a way that the character must act as though the damaged limb has d3 or so levels of damage).  He'll also have a bioplasma pistol made out of a random gaunt weapon and modified to look a little more technological.  The Gyver suits are the inspiration for the Hdvari bio-tech suits.

Last two bits, here is my WIP Nurgle Magos who will be accompanied by the ever-popular plague fly.  He's my most intense foray into GS yet and I'm rather proud (though his robes need some serious straightening out).  I'm considering giving him hooves.  His right arm will be carrying the Belakor sword (just a mundane sword, carried more for show) and will be 100% GS otherwise (made to look rotting).  His left are will be Quondovius's left arm and will hold rotten GS intestines.  His head is currently a GS WIP with one (shaved down) spawn eye in it.  When completed it will be covers in a tanned skin-sack  and have one eye hole.  I'm considering giving him one horn as well.  He's definitely inspired by a nurgle magos that I've seen on the clave before but I can't remember who did it.  Also, I'm incredibly happy with his book of nurgle (see below).

phil-o-mat

the magos is very cool, can`t wait to see him painted!
and the book is AWESOME!!! it would pay for it!

can`t say much about the other miniatures at this point, but keep them coming.

bye, phil

Given the stunning quality of everything else - the Nurgle sigil on his shoulder looks like some fried eggs... the Hdvari looks very nice.

i really do like that  book, very much along the lines of the tome of eternal darkness.

Fiddled with this guy while waiting for GS to dry.  He's Droog from this article: http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=697.0
