Better, I think.
The whole ancestor-suit stuff used to be pretty solid.

As for stats, I think a few of the "too stubborn to die" skills/traits/abilities might be worth investigating, though not necessarily as a racial standard.

And Dwarfs usually appear to be physically and mentally superior to most humans, bar the short and fat gig they have going.
This may be due to the skewed representation by their rare appearances in GW/BL books though.
