Hey all!

My names Rob and I'm a neuroscience student aged 20 at Bristol university. Played warhammer and 40k when i was 12-14ish and bought the inquisitor rulebook when I was 15, I was massively captivated by the story and character detail but alas due to a lack of fellow players and the sudden presence of breasts in my life it was forgotten.

Recently I've been gearing up to make an Inquisitor central army in 40k and then remembered I had the rule book for this and decided to do a duel project replicating the Inquisitor character (Inquisitor Shannow funnily enough) in both of the games, figuring it would help me flesh out his story with army campaigns as my 40k experience progressed with him at the helm (though the lack of GW clarity of new codex release is scuppering any advancement as of the moment sadly).

Anyway I'm pleased to be here and have posted a character question/skeleton if anyone wants to peruse and criticise :P I've already found loooaaaads of stuff useful and the sight generally looks damn cool!

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.

Welcome to the Conclave!
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.

A Gemmel fan, are you?

Indeed I am, certainly the catalyst for my interest in fantasy. They are my parents favourite books and my ,y first serious reading. You a fan too I assume? Any favourites?

I was a fan of his early works in my teens - the Jerusalem Man novels, in particular.  I moved away from his work at about the same time as I realized that David Eddings had only ever written one story, just with different names for the characters in each one.  Gemmel is definitely better than Eddings, and I've not read his Troy novels yet, which I hear are very good.

That said, a Jon Shannow-type character or a Deacon-style character (avoiding spoilers, there) would be great in INQ.

Haha I know what you mean on repetitiveness which though Gemmell certainly suffered from, probably less so than a lot. If you haven't read the Rigante novels I'd recommend them, they are four books in two sets of 2 spanning hundreds of years, very well done. My favourite novels would be the Jerusalem man novels and the Waylander novels, which most definitely affect my character creation at least a little.

I may work on a Jerusalem man type character at some point, a different kind of religious fanatic (perhaps adhering to the bible in the emperors universe?)
