Inquisitor in Indianapolis, USA

Hello all!  I have only just found The Conclave and have found it to be a wonderful site.

I am just getting back into the game after a long hiatus from Inquisitor.  I used to be one of GW's "Outriders" for 9 years, and a "Pathfinder" for 2 years.  I dropped all my GW gaming habits except Warhammer Fantasy for 3ish years and played Star Wars minis.  I just recently started painting 40k again, and of course Inquisitor.  This may be due to the new fantasy rules change, but I feel as I want a break from fantasy.  My warhammer zombie army has went 20W-3L and 0 draws - hard to beat 200 zombies on the table!!!

My biggest draw to GW has been painting, converting, and terrain building.  With my current projects being an Inquisitor scaled Rhino and Adeptus Mechanicus terrain.  My goal is to build enough terrain to fill a 4x4x4 cube to play inquisitor on and to collect/paint each of the GW 54mm models (if you have anything to part with let me know!).

Collecting and painting all of the 54mm GW models will be an impressive achievement (especially if you try to get all the OOP ones as well), but why restrict yourself to GW models? There are loads of companies that make models that can be used for Inquisitor - many of which are far better quality than GW's 54mm range.

I look forwards to seeing some pics as you build your terrain and vehicles.

Not restricting myself to GW's minis, just one of my first 2 goals.  At 7 painted minis so far, though 1 from ebay!  Have 7 NIB to start painting soon as I finish these pesky Dark eldar that are going OOP soon!

Been watching a Russian guy post his 54mm resin minis on ebay, they look fantastic, but want to see them comparison to the GW minis.

I also prefer GW mini styles, the "heroric" (sp?) scale looks better to me (larger heads, hands, ect) than true scale models.  Mayhaps because I've been a GW gamer for sooooooo long!

Fortunately the GW miniatures are all slightly different in their proportions, so in some the head and hands are particularly pronounced, where as in others they're more realistically sized - the reason this is a good thing is that it makes it easy to use mix and match GW and non-GW parts without characters looking rather weird.  Of course, few ranges have weapons that are as 'heroic' as GW, but fortunately many 28mm weapons are oversized and can be used on 54mm models (often a 28m basic weapon will make a good 54mm pistol, but some, such as ork weapons, are so large they fit as they are).
