Hey guys, been lurking a bit recently as I am considering starting my own Inquisitor Warband. I have played once or twice at the gaming club I used to attend as they had Tyrus and Barbaretta on hand so I could have a bash and see what I thought of the game.

I was a bit young then but it has been a fair few years since I have done any war gaming. I was looking into the RPG stuff like dark heresy when I remembered what I liked about Inquisitor, narrative and exciting play.

So many years on I am planning soon to start my own warband.

My plan is to go quite  Ecclesiarchical with my warband. So that means flamers, eviscerators and the like. So far I have the ideas for what I want as members.

First of all. I would like to use the Daemonhuntress as a base for an Inquisitor who may, if possible be a member of the Adepta Sororitas who has left the sisterhood to purge the unclean and cleanse the heretic in a rather fanatical manner.

Second, I love the Devotee Malicant model, it just screams Zealot in so many ways. I think that would fit in well with the whole theme.

Other than that I am struggling for ideas. If anyone could help me that would be a real help.

Thanks alot

ps. If this is in the wrong section, I am sorry. Mods feel free to arrange how you like.

How about a Savant, carrying Holy Texts and Relics? Or some sort of Archivist?
Questions are a burden to others, answers a burden to oneself.

I never thought about that idea. I like it, adds something more than just firepower and close combat.

I was thinking about an Arco-Flagellant, due to that being a punishment for heresy and it being a constant reminder to all we encounter the ill fate which may occur if you stray from the path of the emperor.

I like it, not many people come up with Echlessiarchy warbands (eh, I don't like that word, but whatever), even though the Ministorum is one of the most powerful forces in the Imperium and definitely has a hand in the purging of heretics. I can easily see a monodominant-leaning Inquisitor having allegiances to them.

I like DA's idea of the archivist - looking at the profile for the Lector in the 'Judicious Remit of an Acolyte' article would be a good place to start. Such a character could perform the role of the 'voice of reason' (relatively speaking) in a fanatical Faith-and-Flamethrowers brigade.

As a more combat-oriented character to back up the Inquisitor (especially a shooty character, since Zealots aren't usually good at that) you could have a veteran of the Frateris Militia, using one of the guardsmen as a base for the conversion. Giving him an auxiliary flamer on a basic weapon could be a nice touch, though I'll warn against taking *too many* flamers - they are fearsomely powerful and can really ruin your opponent's day.

Another possibility (though it very much depends on the character and tolerances of your Inquisitor) would be a Theosophamic psyker (see the Thorian sourcebook). Theosophamy is rather the antithesis of the Daemonology discipline, and about the most innocuous psychic discipline - although its application is very specialised, I might warn you. I do have a Wyrd-Theosophamist priest character myself, though.

Oh, and make sure to look at the articles on holy relics. There's some neat stuff there that might be suitable.

Wow, thanks for the info, I like some of the ideas here, but I am not planning on fielding any psykers. As I mentioned in the first post, I was thinking of fielding an almost rouge Sister Seroritas as an Inquisitor character. I guess she could have the influence needed to start a group of zealous religious nuts. Kinda like the Knights Templar during the crusades.

On the note of flamers, I only really want one. Be it a hand flamer, a full sized piece or a lasgun with an auxiliary. One flamer and one chainsword/eviscerator will do me just fine thanks.

Where can I find this extra literature as I only have the original rulebook.

But once again. Thanks a lot :D

Chap called Dumdeedum on the 'clave has been working towards making a religious zealot for a while that is essentially unarmed but is tattooed with all the different glyphs and such that ward off against daemons and the impure, so that he can go toe-to-toe with chaos just with his holy fist,,,a very cool image in my opinion.

The rules for the glyphs and all the other stuff can all be found in Marco's PDF download pack, you can bulk download all of them and as well as the extra rules for religious weapons etc, there is also a whole load of other useful stuff.

To find them either look in the stickied PDF thread or in Marco's signature.

Hope that helps :)

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.

my suggestion is read historical books on religion, there is a lot of sick and twisted stuff that make people ideas go wild.

you could make a powerful OGRYN or giant that is being kept in check by 2 priests (non combat) the giant or ogryn would go wild if they die....so you are using 3 models but they act as 1 unit each one helping the other...1 person could be the ears of the monster the other his eyes, if you kill the 2 people who keep the giant creature in check the monster goes wild killing...

if you have the rulebook there is a nice big ogryn model (near the back) that would look perfect and the new plastic giant is perfect for modeling.... he could be an UBER acro flagg...  but needs people too keep him at bay.

i might use this idea myself nothing better then giants  ;D
