Ooooooo! Nice one there Dave!

Now time for a few Q: Is he a higher ranking Nav or is he low on the tree? and What house doese he come from (you might have to make one up)? Why did you go with the crime lords (sabellus) body? And lastly what up with the lute on his back?

Also I think Juilo Galtora is a good name.
May The Emperor protect us from the dakness of the void. That or we can run around in little cricles and wave our arms and shout

The idea is he's a very talented Navigator from a good family (after all, my Rogue Trader's warrant goes back to the time of the Great Crusade so his family have had more than enough time to build up good connections with the Navis Nobilite) but he's a bit of a outcast who is willing to turn a blind eye to some of the Rogue Traders more illicit activities, while other Navigators in good standing work for the rest of the House.

QuoteWhy did you go with the crime lords (sabellus) body?
It's a nice body (although poorly proportioned) but I didn't like the cloak or head. I think it works well for a rich character, such as a Navigator, but I think it could also work well for certain types of Inquisitor as well as for criminal types.

He's something of a poet and musician and likes to carry his guitar with him wherever he goes.  A big gun might have been more useful for games of Inquisitor but a guitar is more interesting. Anyway, he's not really paid to fight - House Hydronus have plenty of men-at-arms (one of whom I might model one day).

OK, far from me to critique, but I believe that all navigators are blinded.  So, mayhaps this guy did not go see the Emperor for the Soul Binding?

BTW, I suggest the name "Thom Merrilin" for it's a good name for a bard  ;D
Looking a Space Marine Helmet? I may have one!

I believe you're thinking of astropaths - they undergo the Soul Binding and most are left blind by the process.  Navigators have a third eye, set in their forehead which they use to see into the warp.

So I've been absent for a while and my first thought was to go and see how many thousands of brilliant new models Kaled has made in the mean time. It comes as no great surprise to find such an original model by him at the top of the topic board. I think I've got a lot of admiring pictures to catch up on.
*Insert token witticism*

I've been a bit of a slacker these last months, so not too many models for you to go look at - but I'm glad you like this one. :)

I'm liking this guy, the fact he doesn't seem to be a stereotypical "combat" character is really awesome, and i'm loving the crazed "You weren't there maaaan" vibe that's going on.
