I'm back, and I'm painting.

Well, of course, I'm always painting because that's what I do for a living now, astonishingly.  But now I'm painting Inquisitor minis, for my personal use at the IGT.

This one's been on my desk for almost three years, now, in various stages of completion.  But now it's (nearly) finished.  I have to still finish off the webbing and boots, but it's basically done.  There is no background or character sheet as yet, but he's likely to be a vicious mercenary.  That's all I have to say on that, right now:

Great stuff Robey, the digital camo looks good. The two bolters stuck together works surprisingly well. Is the mask one you've sculpted?
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.
The Order of Krubal
Rewards Of The Enemy

Yes, I sculpted over Sgt Stone's head.

Is he likely to engage in slightly awkward fist-bumps?:D

Love the model though. The autogun (I assume that's what it is?) is very good.

That, I believe, has to be the only time I have ever actually seen GW's copyright actually listed on a model photo. (See how their IP policy is universally ignored!)

That source of amusement aside, it looks great so far.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

looking awesome mate i love the digital camo and i agree that the bolter set up looks very effective

Because I use images of GW models (and from a variety of manufacturers) for commercial purposes, I feel obligated to make clear where the IP of miniature designs lies.

Yes, the inspiration of this and his partner is, of course, "Army of Two".  I've not played the game (I don't have much time for computer games on top of everything else!) and I know nothing about the characters except what I've seen in the artwork.  Ballistic masks, I was astonished to learn, are real things!

I'll dig out the other one of the pair tomorrow and make a start on bringing him up to spec.

oh yeah i like the army of two esqueness of this model now you say it i see it and im looking forward to the other one of this duo, and the rest of your mini's for the IGT

kierkegaard

Excellent (I always look forward to your work.)

Are the collar, gauntlet and right shoulder pad all greenstuff?

precinctomega

Good news everybody!

I remembered where I packed away the second member of my Army of T.W.O, dug him out and slapped some paint on him:

Meanwhile, I made some more progress on our first man:

And, because someone asked for a scale shot with a Cadian 28mm guardsman:

@kierkegaard - See WIP shot for putty work:

The second guy looks great too. I like the crazy-big las weapon.

Why didn't you use the digital camouflage pattern on his trousers?

I looked up real ballistic masks - imagine how uncomfortable getting shot in the face while wearing one would be (I think I would rather just receive a fatal head wound.)

precinctomega

I wanted to emphasize the fact that they're mercenaries, who equip themselves out of private resources, not over the counter of a quartermaster with a single uniform.

love em robey....im currently playing 40th day on 360 and thought...hmm i like the ballistic mask idea (havin worn one for airsoft many times) so ive got a half sculpted one sat on my work desk atm....
@kierkegaard ....it hurts just gettin shot by an airsoft gun with one on mate...trust me lol

I assume the appeal is it can stop disfiguring scars from shrapnel? After all, if an explosion can penetrate the mask, its probably destroyed your neck as well, but if its non-lethal, the mask will stop you getting a splinter of metal in the cheek...
