Okay, so I am new to the forum in the last few weeks, and this is my first WIP post, so if I offend an ettiquette that I am unaware of, please let me know.

While seeking bitz for another 'Claver's project, I found all of my old warbands.  Frankly, I believed they had suffered a disappearance into the Warp during my move from UT to NY 8 years ago, but there they were--a little the worse for wear, but all present.  Here is my first offering:

The Warlock is built from the 40K Avatar torso (late 1990's vintage), Covenant's legs, Eisenhorn's holster, Gruss's right forearm, Josef's upper arms (I think), a 40K eldar left power fist, a piece of coat hanger wire, and Eldrad Ulthran's sword for the tip of his spear (which has fallen off).  He's probably my favorite conversion...but I have not had the time or courage to paint him.  I performed an experiment with his waist--using actual ribbon material to get a different texture while also covering a less than perfect joint.  Don't know how it's gonna turn out painted...

I chose to use the Avatar helm unmodified to establish him as a more warlike Eldar outcast who has chosen the path of war away from his people...thinking about a redemption background and adding a Ranger to his retinue.
It may have all been a lie, but it keeps the masses quiet.

Well, that looks familiar! ^_^

Yeah, I always liked the 28mm version of this warlock and was dedicated to creating a 54mm version.  I think it turned out okay...but I'm sure he's not unique in the world. ???

with 54mm being so small for resources, it's rare to make something unique; but it's all in the details; plus once you're painted it, unless you do a second it'll be unique :D
i make no apologies, i warned you my ability to roll ones was infectious...

Actually I meant this ^_^:

And there it is--proof positive that most good ideas have already been used at least partially once.  :)

I'm pretty sure I can only recall 1 warlock/farseer conversion that didn't use any parts from the 40k Avatar - and I've probably come across... a dozen or so over the years.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.

That said, I don't recall ever seeing a finished warlock/farseer conversion that uses bits from an Avatar. You're still in the race, Kaludram ;)
An Inquisitor walks into a bar - he rolls D100 to see if he hits it.

So it's clear then, keep working on it and you will be the first with a very good looking model, because so far the warlock looks great.
