Hey gents, back after a long hiatus. I haven't touched an =I= model in close to 9 years, but the news that GW are canning the game has made me dust off my old models and bring them up to date, along with the intention of purchasing a few more before they disappear forever. I'm going to post a few before and after photos, mostly before because I haven't done a lot of work on them yet. The project isn't going to be a major overhaul of the models, just about adding washes and highlights and rebase them, as I don't think they were too bad, just missing the finishing touches that I didn't have the skills or knowledge to do back in the day. Besides, trying to strip them would probably end up breaking a lot of the conversion work. Here's a few of them, I'll try and get some more photos of the rest soon.

Oh and yes, they are gloss varnished ::), but that will be rectified through the wonders of Army Painter matte spray. Also, excuse the dust. That has since been fixed.

First up, radical Inq. Heidenreich, a man convinced that tracking down the so called Perpetuals is the key to resurrecting the Emperor.

EDIT: I have no idea why this pic is so small.

Inq. Stoltz. He and Inq. Heidenreich were Interrogators together under the vaunted Lord Inquisitor Henschel. They have since gone very different paths, choosing to apply the knowledge they gained under Henschel for very different ends.

Preacher Dimitar. Heidenreich inherited Dimitar from Henschel, somewhat reluctantly. He has however proved invaluable in helping to control the demonhost Kri'Vak, who for some reason appears compelled to do as Dimitar orders, despite him not being the one who bound the demon to his current host.

Demonhost Kri'Vak.

Interrogator Bael. A former Arbites who also served as an Interrogator under Henschel, but has not been elevated to full Inquisitor yet. He seems to have found another sponsor since Henschel's disappearance though, because he has amassed quite a formidable war band of his own, and seems to be able to call on the influence of some powerful if shadowy figures to aid and ease the way in his secretive mission.

Just a random battle servitor for my Mechanicus war band.

Egil Ironjaw, SW Deathwatch Brother.

Brother Gustav, IF Deathwatch Brother.

"The Imperium's most dangerous enemies come from within. We can never defeat them all. But if we do not fight them with every ounce of our being, we stand the chance of becoming one of them!" Inquisitor Kirel Heidenreich, Ordo Hereticus, after the cleansing of the Sons of Vandire.

Finally finished the Sororitas model. I started her about 8 years ago and never got around to finishing her. Her sword is actually a Lego samurai sword. She will be rebased when I get my hands on some diamond plate plasticard.

Also, a group shot of the work ahead.

Next up, possibly a counts as SW scout from Andrea Minis.

The Repentia has never been the best model in the Inquisitor range, but that's worked pretty well. The daemonhuntress head might be a bit on the large side, but given the odd proportions GW use anyway, it's not too bad. Hooray for Lego!

As for your work pile, you appear to have some synchronised Space Marines. It's like Thriller over there!
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Yeah, the head is slightly too big, but the original head is so damn ugly I couldn't bear to use it. Re the marines, when I got these back in the day I didn't have the tools or skills to conduct the major surgery required to repose them other than the straight forward weapons swaps. I may try and pick up a couple more before they sell out and see what I can do with them now.

Heidenreich looks like he means business.  Eisenhorn's stern face is really good for showing off a bad attitude!

Stoltz looks wonderfully over-the-top in the best possible way.  Plasma gun, powerfist and power armour - I imagine the local heretics are quaking in their boots.

That's a really elegant conversion of the Repentia model.  Top work.
