in here is where i shall be posting my work on inquisitor lord mordax.
so far he is still in bits form but i now have a definitive idea in my brain of how he will look, hopefully the next few weeks (months, years?) will see this idea brought to life.
main reason for this early post on his work is for some opinions on his shock maul, specifically the "shocky" bits

here is what i have so far, yes, i know it looks a bit like a light sabre  :-[

now what i want to know is should i go for ringed shock conductors?

or pads?

or something different? all comments welcome and any pics of your own shock mauls would be greatly appreciated
(sorry about dodgy paint skills but you get the idea)

Thin ring half a millimeter before the top, a line of pads half a millimeter below that (twice the thickness of the ring at the top) and another ring the same thickness as the first half a millimeter below that.  I use the half millimeter measurement not in a strict sense, just in the sense that it's an increment noticeably smaller than a millimeter.

managed to whack the pads on whilst working on hans.

hows it look?

really liking the handle and the clean look of it, but something about those pads you've added don't seem right to me..

I like the rings... i can't quite put my finger on it. Sorry for being unhelpful, but I can't really think of anything to suggest, just that somehow those pads look wrong to me.

It might be because the pads have a flat surface on them with no detail, you could try sculpting a small bit of detail onto them. Perhaps adding some rivets or even add another smaller piece of plasticard on top to break up the surface and add texture.

Argentuss

From the picture it looks like there is only 3 pads. And the gap between them seems a little big to me. Also as Rayner said, they do seem a little flat. I'd suggest maybe adding in another 1 or 2 pads and bring them closer together and adding small detail like Rayner said.

Over all, i like the piece so far, looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
