A new warband emerges

Hello Conclave!
It's been quite some time since I last posted.
I've been quietly stalking the P&M forums, and admiring the fine work.

I've had the I bug for a while, with numerous character concepts running through my head. One stuck, so I started modeling. And somehow ended up with a warband on the go. Yay :) I don't have names or background sorted, so brief descriptions will have to do. I've previously bashed together 2 Sevora/Sevorina conversions, and have been half way through a Space Marine for years, but other than that, no other I scale modelling

Anyway, onto the important part. Pictures!

Bounty Hunter/Hive Scum. The original character I started building. She was originally going to be a penal guards-woman, but even with an explosive collar on she ended up looking a little too well equipped

Ordo Xenos/Unaffiliated Inquisitor. Interested in divination and it's uses in guiding humanity. Recently trying to discover Eldar techniques in order to confound them. Puritanical, but not quite Monodominant fire-breather.

Imperial Noble/Ship Command.
I'm very tempted to redo the half cloak. The front has come out well, but the rest is rather lumpy. Waiting for new greenstuff, however.

And Finally, Tech Priest.
He will be getting a hood. I quite like the idea of turning the servo arm into some form of electro-gun. The positioning says firepower more than lifting tool.

They are on the right side of halfway done, although there is a lot of tidying up to be done.
Any ideas/input would be greatly appreciated.

*Edit: Proof reading/spellcheck is my friend.

all of these are looking wonderful - a lot of character!

My personal favorite is the ship commander - great use of the Necron arm.
Was it easy to get Duke Von Castellan's legs straight? - I have a plan for an imperial noble/prince using those legs too...

Heroka Vendile

Lovely work, they're all very characterful conversions.
I don't actually recall having seen a Talos used to make a tech priest before either.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.
The Order of Krubal
Rewards Of The Enemy

Thanks guys :)

Several Dark Eldar Talos arms actually ;) He's probably my favorite too.

The legs came lie that from ebay. I've redone the greenstuff. There was quite a lot of hacking done to the legs, but the gap filling isn't too bad, apart from his backside. The cheeks are different sizes. I'll get a photo of how it is at the moment.

I had the idea for the Techpriest, wasn't sure how to do it, and then found a fantastic servitor using the Talos and shamelessly stole it.
I haven't decided what to do with the staff yet. I have a Tech-marine axe kicking around, however, I don't see him using a long axe in one hand. I need to find some techno-gubbinz.

very nice throughout, always good to see new poses for old models

There is Gav's Magos Tiamat, but the approach here is obviously different.

Both are actually really nice takes. We need more floaty techpriests.

Well, there is the Ocularian faction and the Antiquarti (who split off from them). Both are largely about predicting the future, but the former via ritual and the latter by trying to discern patterns in the past.

They're largely considered Radical factions, but I think the one axis spectrum is somewhat limiting at times - you could perfectly well have a frothing firebrand who won't go anywhere without his soothsayer.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

I didn't manage to get a decent picture of the work done on the 'pilot's' legs, but this picture is similar.

http://s307.photobucket.com/user/123-mang/media/20140901_173100.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4

The legs come in two parts. The hips on the backwards leg is hacked up until it fits as desired, and the back of the knee cut to straighten it. Standing Rogue Trader. :)

I loooove Magos Tiamat, but it wasn't that I nicked.

Thanks for those factions, they sound perfect. I shall look into them some more.Guessing they are in the new Inquisition book or Dark Heresy. 40K wiki will have the info I need.

Great to see some new models around here!

Nice work on the pilot - you've straightened up Barbaretta wonderfully, and the pose is now very dynamic. Very easy to picture her running into the heart of the action.

The Inquisitor looks like a hardass, which works well.

I do like the noble little mutated arm. The shadow of his profile looks properly sinister! I do feel that Von Castellan's legs are too plain (the sculpt is the issue, not your work) - they look a lot like yoga pants... Perhaps a little decoration like a belt buckle, or more gubbins around his waist?

Lastly, nice work on the floating magos. I think his cloak could do with some tidying up, but I'm sure you've got that in hand.
