Many of you know my other order sep inquisitor Ira Stanhope however I feel that Ira needed an arch rival within his own ordo. Someone was as easly as radical as he is in their persute of their goals. So I came up with inquisitor Layton in the hopes that I could meet this goal.

This is what I have so far as a basic out line

History:
Borne to a imfamous womenising noble on the harsh Hive World of Hetrosa's Point in 900M41. Layton was to brought up in the life his father had lived, one os extortion, bribry, theift and murder while acting as a upstanding noble of an Imperial world when under the scrutny the PDF or other law enforcerment. Layton had never known his father but the shadow of the man harshly dictated, in good old Hetroian fashion, the Layton gorw up to be one of the most powerful subjects that The point had to offer.

But that was not to be. At the tender age of 4 Layton's father and mother were brutly murdered by their fellow nobles and layton was soon shiped of to the Schola Progenium.
As a student the Abots took note of how the young man was able to lead and had the curage to stand up to the bullys and in one case even the drill abots. He also had a strong sense of duty and honor. He was soon singled out for Commissarial training. Layton took to the training with at first ill grace but soon eased in to it realising that he was perhaps well suited to work and may very well be his calling in life.
It was during his eaighteenth year that he was granted a blue shash and a heavy lasgun and shiped off to a commissarial traning squad bound for the disdent frontier world of Harper's Hope at the edges of Tau-Imperial space.

It was here on this world, that the Tau set up shop and begain to convert the people, of whom many allready disliked the Imperium, to the Greater Good.
Apalled by this the Imperial guard and the still few loyal PDF units, begain to stamp out all semblince of rebelion, under the command of Inquisitor Harlum Morganstine of the Ordo Sepulturum.
This was the First time the mentor and the would be aprentice would meet.
As the war progressed Morganstine overheard of the you Cadet Commissar. Who had allready won himself a medal and was a quickly riseing star among his fellow cadets.
Rather than let a usful assit go to wast Morganstine seconded the young Cadet to him for the remainder of the war. The two developed something of am working relationship and begain to hunt down tau simpathisers looking to poisen bolth the Guard, PDF and the locals food and dring.
While impressed by the young man Morganstine desided not to take the young cadet with him when he had to leave abruptly one night during a rather fantasitc bombardment, saying "I'll keep a fllowing" to the the slightly dissapointed cadet.

It was during this time that he got his first taste of toxins and chems. After eating one night at a impromptu party to cellabrate Layton reseaving his full sash, Layton was soon struck down by a cripling headache and vomiting mear moments after leaving the party. Soon other officers in the camp were being rushed to the feild hospas with the same illness that Layton had.
despite in the throws of sickness Layton was still lucid enough to be astonished at how fast a fighting forces officer cadre had benn sripled by a illness.
Layton was one of the lucky ones. Many of the infected died and were quickly disposed off. Layton did not come away unscathed though. His body is covered in scars from the urgens probing and from where he had scratched too much and his rashy face and neck.

The war ended badly with few men surviving but with the Tau pushed on the world.

He was later found by Inquisitor Morgastine, who had shown up on the last few days of fighting to see the last of the tau pff planet. though Morganstine was shocked at how much the former Cadet had changed he was never the less interested at what made the youg man so specail. That he had allready a cheaved the rank of a Commissar by just 19 and had survived a pandemic that had swept the oifficer corps killing nearly 67%. Morganstine desided to take Layton and two other survivers with him, not only to study but to see if they were speical in anyway.
Morganstine though was more surprised to find that Layton had discovered it had been the Inquistor himself who had poisened the Officers corps.
Impressed by the young man's deduction the Inquisitor begain to explain why he had done it. Stating that as an Istvaanian it was his task to forster forth the next gereration of hardend men and woman to help crush the Imperioms foes. Stateing that through hardship man improved upon itsself.
Layton was discusted by this view point, but was was not stupid enough to voice this idea.

Though years passed. master and student were never able to conect. Their methoids, Layton's more derict and surgical, Morganstins more under handed and corvet never reall worked well together.
Despite this After nearly twenty years the former commissar was granted his inquisitorial satus at age 41.

Unlike his master Layton became a more hard line Amalathian than his master's radical viewpoint.

Over time however Layton has become more like his despised master fllowing the Libricar phillosphy.
