Well, it's still WIP ;) I'm not sure If I want him being banished from his chapter due to killing a Librarian or just 'moved' out of the chapter to prevent him causing trouble. I'm still 50/50 if I want him in his chapter colours... Part of me wants to have him so that he has renounced his chapter due to seeing them as 'impure'.......... The other part of me likes the colour scheme.

Aye, the Bolt pistol is just a cut down Bolter. Hence why it's a cast - I try not to cut originals up unless I have a surplus of them.

Looking great! Sculpting is very neat and smooth as always. As for the fluff, being moved to other (inquisitorial?) control seems more plausible to me than being banished.

"Being a bit of a nutter" is a more than adequate backstory for just about any Inquisitor warband member I can think of! It's a very nice re-imagining of a classic, I always appreciate a good set of balls on a space marine.

That cast bolt pistol - did I see that doing the rounds on ebay a little while ago?
An Inquisitor walks into a bar - he rolls D100 to see if he hits it.

Nah, I wont put GW casts up on Ebay. That's naughty. I think there was one up on there but that was Legio Destructor (member here) who made them with a 3D printer. I bought a set and they're great quality but they're scaled for Humans, not for Marines.

'Being a nutter' is always a great excuse. Inquisitor characters are always more fun if they're the unhinged ones. I can happily see this chappy calmly keeping his head under fire and keeping an eye on the objective............. aaaaaaaand then a psyker happens.

Excuse the picture quality but it's just a quick WIP of the colour scheme. I've gone for a quartered Yellow/Black scheme to represent the 'Grudge Bearers' Chapter. A Chapter created from Imperial Fists and Black Templars during the 3rd founding specifically tasked with hunting down and eliminating Iron Warrior Lords/Warsmiths and breaking their Fortresses.

(first pic is with the flash on so it obliterates all the blending/highlight work on the yellow. So it's for colour scheme only.

I hate to be "that guy" because that is a spiffing paint job so far, aren't the grudge bearers a sort of purpley blue? With gold trim and white shoulder pads? That's what I got on a quick google search anyway
Really like the scheme, not too in your face yellow like an imperial fist and not too black like a black Templar.

Lord Borak

I didn't realise the Grudge Bearers were a named chapter. I did an army YEARS ago that I sold a few years ago and this was a nod to remember them. I can quickly change the name if needs be but as far as I'm concerned the Grudge Bearers I made up........ and this is their colour scheme :P

Some better pics.

Still pondering about the weapon on this chap. I think I'm going to go for either a Power Maul (scratch built) or a Thunderhammer off the Dreadknight once I find one! Anyway, work is still going a head (see what I did there?). The head is done.

EDIT:
Here's some more WIP pics. Someone asked for a 'scale shot' of the Cyber Troll and a marine. I forget who........ but here it is. The Angel of the photo actually makes the Troll look smaller than he is aswell.

For some reason I like the idea of a mace, something well crafted and possibly etched filigree details and yet still the most brutal of weapons.
That's a great job on the head/face/tattoos, I feel like I could almost read the text
Chapter symbol really works as well
Is there any way to get the black fleur de lys mirrored in yellow on the other arm?

Cortez

Love the paint job on the head. Especially the tattoos.

Lord Borak

Thanks guys :) Rady, it was your suggestion I went with the writing on his head - It works!

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of this (not my work). It looks awesome but there's a fair bit of work there that I'm not sure I can be bothered with. I think it really depends how the Dreadknights hammer looks on him. I do prefer the Maul fluff-wise though. It just suits Banus.

Radu Lykan

That would be along the lines of what I was thinking, also "mace to the face" is fun to say :)

KaptiDavy

If you don't want to fuss too much about the mace, grab a weapon hand from the dreadknight kit, and have fun!
That hand is slightly larger than Artemis' original, but it's passable - as You will see soon:)

Van Helser

Looking very sharp with the painting there.  Excellent work breathing life into the face.

Power maul would be a tough build, but would look good.

Custom marine chapter, smooth yellow over a black undercoat, custom melee weapon for knocking heads in? I think this Dawn of War marine sums up my feelings perfectly.

Fascinated to see how this turns out. I love the head (heh) and can't wait to see him all finished.
