Well having pillaged the entire house for bits and bobs, I have a large haul of crap to make a decent stab at modelling. The favourite thing that I got hold of is definitely my dads old bike faring, and having mused about what to do with it, I have decided to make it the hide out for the dominant underhive gang on the planet I plan to make my characters base of operations. It is going to be a very old and broken titans head that they have converted, I know that they are rare and difficult to come by but I love the idea too much to let that get in the way to be honest.

here are some mock up pic for where the floors will be, I think it will back into the yard of the hideout and acts as a deterrent to other gangs and as a machine gun mount/lookout:

Hope you guys like

Rob

EDIT: The videos aren't mine so don't judge me and for gods sake stereo speakers were not meant to be taken apart!!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.

Oh, liking the idea of the titans head! I can just imagine it being in the center of an old scrap yard or abandoned industrial factory, the cockpit itself filled with damaged monitors and broken controls.

RobSkib

Yup it's official, it now has to be a broken Titan's head :)

Glad you approve :D any suggestions and tips for modelling the interior? I was going to have ladders up the back and maybe mount a multilaser from a chimera on the top floor? The idea of consoles sounds good, though struggling to think of decent ways to model them other than boxy with green stuff blob dials...

Hopeful will be updating fairly frequently and will post other stuff as they come together also, any suggestions for the titans head will always be seriously considered :) as well as for anything else I do!

It sounds like a really cool idea 8)! When I first saw it I thought "that looks like a good cockpit, maybe to an aircraft or something along those lines". I look forward to seeing it finished, and even more additions to the hide out.

I'm no expert on scenery making, but I'd suggest foamboard for the larger shapes then plasticard and/or parts from your bitz box for any details you want to add.

For ideas on how they should look or layout, google will have a range of images of the interior of submarines, etc.

Myriad

I''m batman.  I have warriors in my head.

On a serious note, lots of visual impact and potential for an invdividual terrain piece here.  It's a nice idea.
I had better point out, that some of the clubs I represent are of a military bent.

alternatively, the cockpit of a crashed alien ship?

but yes, titan head came to mind first for me as well.
It's all fun and games until someone shoots their own guy with a Graviton gun instead of the MASSIVE SPIDER.

Jed's Terrain maybe worth a look? its 28mm but scale canbe overlooked with summat as awesome as a titan head :D
i make no apologies, i warned you my ability to roll ones was infectious...

AHH great link Gav! There is definitely some stuff there that looks like it could be the top of dials and stuff as the detail if I build it a main body. Ooooh excitement!

awesome idea, i like the image of a titans head just rusting away in a scrap yard some where, occupied by people with no idea what it originally was.
also could present a whole campaign based around information about a xenos/chaos item stored in the machine spirit of a lost titan = enter mechanicus kill squads after the valuable information, ordo malleus/xenos inquisitor intent on destroying the knowledge and any who have come into contact with it, the current inhabitants and possibly some eldar who dont want the data (in the form of vid logs of a way through their craftworlds titans holofields) falling into the wrong hands
sorry for spouting ideas but the whole idea is inspiring, look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I remember videos... (I was going to judge you  ;D - the only one there that I would watch is The Princess Bride.)

Awesome idea for the scenery. As Radu Lykan suggests, it really lends itself to some interesting scenarios. I look forward to seeing progress on it.

Ok, so I have added some interior in the way of cabling ducts, and have also added a flame cannon based on a leman russ turret to the roof, along with its fuel canisters. I have rules WIP for use of that in games, or alternatively it can be so underused/in bad shape that its non-functional but looks cool :P

The end of the flame cannon will have some green stuff flames added, as I decided that it looked to leman russ like. The rest of the interior will have to wait till I see Gav in august to get some resin bits off him; but I will be working on basing the head and adding detail to the back of it with ladders, slopes, etc.

Hope you like,

Rob

Edit: The edges of the cardboard will be covered!! Don't worry about that! I only used the cardboard for the flooring as I liked the panelled look of it due to the corrugations in it. Anyway, just realised I should probably explain....

Like the armaments, gives it a good military feel.  Tell me the lightbulb works.

Looking good, I can't help but feel some extra panelling on the inside walls would have been good, just to distinguish it from the outside. Maybe some extra battlements at the top so your guys have something to duck behind?
