I'm looking for one or two volunteers to help the guys at Forge World to run their games at Games Day UK.

Volunteers need to be over 18, have a current CRB and possess a passing familiarity at least with Aeronautica Imperialis.

Those selected will get free Games Day tickets, T shirts, the Games Day miniature, lunch and possibly some sweeties.  You have to be able to make it there under your own steam, ideally by 0800 to help with the set-up.

If you're interested, please PM me.

Regards,

Robey

Is there an Inquisitor table this year?
An Inquisitor walks into a bar - he rolls D100 to see if he hits it.

I believe not.

At least two clubs were planning one before GW screwed up by implying in their Games Day documentation that Specialist Games weren't welcome.  Both clubs binned their plans and pulled out of GD (along with a bunch of other clubs, when GW insisted that all playing surfaces must be Realms of Battle and all terrain from Games Workshop).

By the time GW had realized what a cock-up they'd made, they'd alienated too many clubs for their hasty retractions to regain much ground.

Hence why they're coming to me - a GCN rep, but with no official club affiliations any more - to drum up some volunteers at the last minute!

What games would be worked on then? Would it just be warhammer or 40k battles? I ask as I'd love to take part and have a CRB currently being done, but I have only read Inq rules in recent years, though I think I could work up a comprehensive enough knowledge of the 40k 5th edition rules before games day, not so sure of warhammer though as don't have rtulebook access.

Or if that means I just don't have enough experience ignore me :D

Edit: just realised that AI is the game so maybe not.....unless its easy to learn then I'm all game!
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time to die.

Hmm. I've never been to a Games Day, but I have rather wanted to for some time.

However, while I'd love to help, I'm not familiar with Aeronautica Imperialis - nor, for that matter, do I have a CRB (although I'd not have a problem with getting one if there was a job I could actually do) -  so I can't really help.

If you've got other openings for jobs I can actually help with, then maybe, but AI is outside my expertise.
S.Sgt Silva Birgen: "Good evening, we're here from the Adeptus Defenestratus."
Captain L. Rollin: "Nonsense. Never heard of it."
Birgen: "Pick a window. I'll demonstrate".

Knowing AI is an advantage rather than a prerequisite.  I don't own the game either, although I know how it works.  I believe the majority of the work will involve moving the models around the "table" - I'm told that the plan is to use 40k-scale flyers for the game.

PM me your email address if interested.  I've got one volunteer, so far, and need two more.
