Inspired by the amazing vehicular work of Mr Knowles in the latest Dark Magenta release, I tried to sign up to the BWC Archive (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/bwc-archive).

My ''Membership is waiting approval from the Group Owner'' for a couple of weeks now. I appreciate that with 11,000 odd members, joining is probably a slow business.

Have I fallen victim to an internet attention span or does it take a while?

I don't remember it taking long once I got the registration process to work - at first I couldn't register at all and Kierkegaard had to download the Arvus plans for me. When I tried again a month or two later it worked fine though.

What are you going to build?
I like to remember things my own way... Not necessarily the way they happened.

didnt take long for me to join but that was a long time ago. like kaled am interested in what you are after? inq scale warhound for a princeps to ride around in? :)

Thanks - I'll try and lodge a second application.

I like the idea of starting with something small, so a lander maybe, but probably not one of the major manufacturers (gives me a bit of lee-way for mistakes... ;)). Basically, Im probably looking at flying vehicles - trucks and buggies are easy enough to make as is, but maybe some form of non-Rhino APC might be interesting.

However, once I've flicked through whats available for inspiration....I can see a Monodominant would appreciate a Baneblade.

Any suggestions?

I'm tempted by the idea of a land speeder storm, but with human pilots. Very useful for a fast reaction Inquisition strike force.

Ahh...see, I'd completely forgotten about surface hover style vehicles - excellent, well done that man!
Speeders have some nice flat planes (good for cack-handers like me) and which Im sure could be nicely detailed with a plastic helicopter kit bash...

Since it looks like Im not flying anywhere from Heathrow, I might have 3 days off work without partner and small clamouring child - woot! - uninterupted modelling time at last!

Ah, the joys of children.

Anyway, I suspect I've forgotten if I have come across this before - what kind of models/nets does BWC have?
I've seen a couple of papercraft dreadnoughts floating around the tubes, and the odd other vehicle. Would that be the kind of style?
Do they cater to other settings significantly?

Flinty

Just been given access to the site - very interesting. Contains paper templates, the old ''fold tab A into tab b'' type as well as some more detailed side/plan views of vehicles, walkers, air/space craft for most races. Also buildings, some nice posters, cartons and boxes - which it might be possible to scale match. All in all, very useful.

There are folders for non-40k related stuff - but I didnt have time to lok at them....
