Morning all,

It's been ages since I posted a model, but I have been working on this guy on and off for ages.  I posted pics of his guitar a while ago and even earlier posted a thread asking about heads that might fit, but I've finally finished the model himself.  So far he doesn't have a name, but he's the latest member of my Rogue Trader's team.

The proportions of the base model were always a little weird (his big head for one thing), and I'm not sure my alterations have really fixed them - but it's hardly unknown for navigators to be mutated so I can live with the shortcomings.

Hopefully I'll paint him a bit faster than I built him!

- Dave

P.S. Thanks Marco for the head - it took a while, but I finally got around to using it.

Blimey, that head really does look different with the beard. Took me a moment to recognise it.

Woo - thats Artemis under there? I cant quite remember, but if that was the crime lord, he's had a very nice change of warderobe - didnt the original have some huge fur collar?

I do like the guitar - he reminds me of a certain Witcher's mandolin strumming associate - but any special reason why he is lugging it around?

All in, very nice as usual.

Yep, that's the head from Artemis - I did change it quite a bit, removing his hair and adding the bandana, pipes & beard. It was one of the few heads that fit the figure so I had little choice but to convert it or sculpt one from scratch.

The Crime Lords cloak and collar are seperate, but I did have to rebuild bits of his jacket that were normally hidden by the cloak. Now I need to figure out another body that the cloak will fit - might have to sculpt one - but I plan to use it for a Tech-priest.

As for the guitar, there's no real reason for it - I think it partly came from the navigator in The Inquisition War and partly from a picture of Johnny Cash. I doubt it'll have any rules in game - maybe he can use it as an improvised weapon if things get desperate.

looks very cool mate! glad all the research has paid off :)

can't wait to see him painted. for some reason he looks like a 28mm model in this shot. I guess its just the proportions- a bit more heroic and exaggerated than the majority of the INQ range perhaps?

You mean the guitar doesn't incorporate a machine gun?

Old rocker Artemis  :) . Like it, lots of personality.  You're right about the proportions I think, there is something slightly odd about them.  Not enough to be a big problem though - in the vastness of the imperium, there must be whole planets with slightly wierd proportions.
I had better point out, that some of the clubs I represent are of a military bent.

I love this model it's cool loving the guitar. I like the Idea of a bard type character

Great model (no surprise, though, considering it's yours ;))!
But since it is Artemis' head, how tall is this guy?

firstly i love the mini....has a real hard edge feel to it...
secondly...im sorry for being petty but its a bass...not a guitar...4 strings not 6 or 12...
thirdly i know the Cash picture you mean....and i love how youve incorporated little parts of it into the model...

I'm going to counter that one. Given that it's properly called a bass guitar, a "Bass" is still a form of guitar.

Also, there's no rule that says a guitar has to have a given number of strings. Bass relates to the tuning, not the number of strings. Based on the neck length (basses have longer necks, for those you who aren't musicians), that's far closer in design to a regular guitar. Just happens to be a four stringed one.

Unusual... yes. Impossible... no - this is the 41st millennium, who says guitar design hasn't branched out considerably by then?

in which case judging by the thickness of the strings its a base /devil's advocate :P

Yes, because it's really easy to put scale thickness strings on a 54mm model.

Evening all,

I actually finished this guy ages ago but for some reason never got around to taking any pictures.  Anyway, here he is...

I did think of a name for him - and scrawled it on a piece of paper so I wouldn't forget it.  Unfortunately I now can't find that piece of paper so he's still nameless...

Anyway, hope you like him.

Very nice, got a great flamboyant look to him.  Mildly anti-imperial, probably.  Giving someone the crazy eye there, it looks like  :).
